Dear Sir/Madam,

 

We, the undersigned, presently settled in Northern England and Scotland would like to request that Jet Airways introduces a direct flight service from Glasgow or Edinburgh or Manchester to Delhi or Mumbai. This will be highly beneficial for the following reasons:

1. Approx 40% Indians in the UK live near Glasgow,Edinburgh or Manchester Airports than any London airport and hence it will be convenient for them to travel to India from these airports rather than from a London airport.

 

2. No other airline currently offers such a direct service (except Birmingham – Amritsar route occasionally offered by AI) from Glasgow or Edinburgh or Manchester to Mumbai or Delhi.

 

3. Jet Airways offers excellent connections within India, hence a service to any of the Indian cities from either Glasgow,Edinburgh or Manchester Airports will cater to the needs of most of the customers

4. London Heathrow is very congested and hence UK travellers generally do not wish to fly from London Heathrow

5. It will be quicker and more convenient to operate through other airports rather than via a London airport

6. Half of Indian students coming to the UK come to study in one of the Northern Universities (Manchester/Leeds/Sheffield/Newcastle/Glasgow/Edinburgh/Dundee)

7. Due to increase in offshoring of projects to India, there has been a rise in business travels between India and UK. Glasgow and Edinburgh being one of the prominent business hubs in Europe, a direct flight between Mumbai/Delhi and Glasgow/Edinburgh will be a lucrative proposition for business travellers.
